Getting started (for coaches)

How to go from sign-up to a scheduled scrim on ScrimLink.

1. Create an account

Sign up with your school email address. Only coaches (advisors or staff responsible for the club) can sign up on their own. Enter the code from the confirmation email on the screen shown after sign-up to start.

2. Create a team and invite players

Create a team from the dashboard. Add a player's school email to the roster and they receive an invite email to set their own password. You can also invite other teachers as coaches.

3. Set your contact details

Add your coach Discord ID in Settings and the lobby contact's in-game ID on the team edit page (Riot ID for VALORANT, BattleTag for Overwatch 2, Epic ID for Rocket League). Both are shown only to the opponent of a confirmed match.

4. Find an opponent

Browse Scrims and apply, or post your own. Matches with schools in your country are in Compete locally; matches with schools abroad are in Connect globally.

In VALORANT, accounts in different regions (shards) cannot join the same custom game. Schools in Japan play schools in Asia-Pacific; schools in the US play schools in the Americas. For Japan–US exchange, use Overwatch 2 or Rocket League, where the host picks the server.

5. Agree on the terms

Each application carries a proposal card with the time, server and format. Choose Accept these terms to confirm the match, or send a counter-proposal to change them. Messages use preset phrases and are all recorded.

6. Match day

The match page shows the match-day steps plus the opponent coach's Discord ID and the lobby contact's in-game ID. The home team (the one that posted) creates the lobby.

7. Report the result

After the match, both coaches report the winner and score. When the two reports agree the result is final, and competitive matches update the rating.
